Billnäs Ironworks

Founded in 1641, the old industrial milieu that is the Billnäs Ironworks in Raasepori is a part of the Finnish national landscape. Today the area serves as a venue for many different kinds of events.

Every spring a series of versatile Billnäs Sommar events are organized in the Billnäs Ironworks. These events bring thousands of visitors to the local area. The cozy Patruunan majatalo guest house, built in 2010, welcomes groups and conference visitors throughout the year.

The gorgeous industrial buildings of the Ironworks and the beautiful view to the Mustionjoki river provide idyllic venues for many kinds of events. For more information about the facilities available for rent, please click here »

2020-project

At the end of year 2008 Billnäs Ironworks moved back to private ownership, when the municipality of Pohja sold the core areas and the surrounding land of Billnäs Ironworks to the entrepreneur Olli Muurainen.

With the change of ownership, Billnäs Ironworks began a new era as a versatile event centre. Along with 2020-project, Billnäs Ironworks` valuable real estates will be renovated and the historical cultural landscape will be tidied up.

Until the year 2020 the profits of the operations will be used for the renovation of the Billnäs Ironworks real estates and the area. Contributing to the project are Raaseporin Kulttuuriverstas Ltd, which is responsible for organizing the events in the Ironworks, and the property company Billnäs samlade verk. Both of these companies are part of Management Events Group which is owned by Olli Muurainen.
